LOST DOGS & CATS LINE ASSISTANT Job ref BDCH98

�16,000 to �20,000 per annum pro rata

Lost Dogs & Cats Line started in 2000 and the line is open 365 days a year from 8am to 8pm. We take calls from the public who have either lost or found a dog or cat and identify possible matches using a computer database. The Line received over 8000 reports of lost dogs and cats during 2006 and over 3000 stray dogs and cats were reunited with their owners in 2005, thanks to the Lost Dogs and Cats Line.

The key objective of the Lost Dogs & Cats Line Assistant is to provide a first class customer care service reuniting lost and found dogs and cats with their owners.

The successful candidate must have experience of dealing with a high volume of telephone calls and emails on a daily basis, inputting information onto a computer database and of working in a pressurised environment. Key skills required are excellent communication skills, data integrity, the ability to show empathy when dealing with sensitive situations and an excellent standard of computer literacy.

You will be required to work 16 hours per week, to be worked over 4 days. Hours are based on a rota system therefore flexibility in working hours is required and the role involves working some weekends and public holidays.
