Lord Mayor's Show
Lord Mayor's Show - 10 November 2007
London
The Lord Mayor's Show has been part of London's history for nearly 800 years.
In the 17th century it was inconvenienced by the building site that would later become St Paul's Cathedral. In the twentieth it was the first event ever to be broadcast live on television.
There will be over 5,500 people taking part in the procession, including 2000 servicemen and women, 180 vehicles, 66 floats, 21 marching bands and 21 carriages. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will be taking part in the procession, with our very own float and a selection of some of our current canine residents who are waiting for a new home! Do come and support us and give us a cheer!
To mark the end of the Show and the beginning of a new mayoral year, London's most spectacular annual fireworks display will light up the river.
