Timmy is a 2 year old mongrel that came into Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in July 2006. A friendly, exitable chap with a slightly anxious edge, Timmy is very people motivated. Timmy was referred to the Behaviour Unit in order for us to investigate his dog-to-dog interactions whilst on lead and his possession issues around food and toys. Timmy is looking for:
Owners that have experience of dogs that have suffered from lead frustration around dogs and are prepared to actively work on the issue
Ideally potential owners will have dealt with dogs with possession issues beforeTimmy will need to be rehomed into a semi-rural to rural environment that has a low dog populationUnfortunately Timmy will not be suitable for a flat as he can be vocal. A house with a garden that is not too close to the neighbours would be idealDue to the consistency in training and the need for a calm, quiet household, Timmy cannot live with kids or visiting kids. Older, sensible teens would be consideredNew owners will need to be prepared to listen to and take advice from the Behaviour Unit regarding Timmy's behavioural issues and follow any ongoing training programs within the homeTimmy cannot live with another dogTimmy could live with a confident, mature catTimmy needs to be viewed as a "working project" and will require a lot of hands-on training, especially around other dogs A fantastic, comical character that will really entertain you and keep you on your toes. If you feel you could offer Timmy a home then please either e-mail us at
[email protected] or phone us on 0207 627 7884 and quote his name and his reference number 2006/03582. Timmy will need some further training in his new home. To receive advice and guidance regarding his training from the Behaviour Unit staff that have worked with him, potential owners should be prepared to come into the Dogs Home for a minimum of two visits.
