Teddy by name, but not necessarily Teddy by nature, this is one young, over confident dog that has quite a high opinion of himself, especially around other dogs.
He is quite self reliant and independent, especially when there is something more interesting around that you, and shows signs of 'selective hearing' when it suits him.
Yet, despite this he is a cracking dog with tons of character and definitely a companion for active owners who are looking for a dog that they can train and work on.
Young, fun and with lots of potential, there's never a dull moment when Teddy's around.
Teddy is looking for:
- active, confident owners who have experience with high status male dogs and who will have a 'no nonsense' approach to training and discipline
- owners who are willing to follow an ongoing training programme advised by the Behaviour Unit at Battersea
- could possibly live with a mature, confident female who will be relaxed in controlling his undesirable behaviours and owners must follow advice given from the Behaviour Unit with regards to socialising Teddy with other dogs
- A home in a semi rural or rural environment which also has low dog populated areas nearby. Owners must be aware that Teddy may have the urge to hunt wildlife so recall and focus must be worked on. A garden is a must for training, burn offs and an area where Teddy can take time out
- an adult household without any children but teenagers will be considered depending on experience and expectations
- leaving hours of no more than 4 hours at a time to avoid boredom. Teddy is a young active dog looking for owners who can keep up with him and his zest for life.
Teddy is at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, London.
