Spencer is a 3-5 year old Jack Russell Terrier cross who came into the dog's home as a stray in January 2006.

Spencer is an independent and aloof terrier, who would love to be a lap-dog; if he was brave enough! He can be wary in new situations and when meeting new people, so introductions will need to be done in his own time and without new owners backing up his behaviour.

He has spent time in our behaviour department, as he is not keen on being handled but once he gets to know and trust you he will allow all over handling.

Spencer will need understanding owners, who knows their terrier types and is keen to put the time into Spencer's training.

Spencer is a great dog who will make a fantastic, loyal companion in the right home.

Spencer is looking for:

* Owners who have had terriers/terrier types before or have had nervous wary dogs but understand the terrier breed
* A home with no children (older teen may be considered)
* Minimal leaving hours
* Could be suitable to live with another dog - would depend on the match
* Any environment - must have lots of space for training away from dogs, as he is easily distracted
* A quiet, adult household only
