Skye

Skye

ref: 2006/20001
size: Medium
age: 1 year old
sex: Female
centre: Battersea
breed: Spitz cross
arrived on: 1/1/2006

Skye is a 1-year-old female Spitz cross who came to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home as a stray back in January 2006. Skye is a cheeky, mischievous young thing with bags of energy, but don't be fooled by her cute looks! She was seen by the Behavioural Unit at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home for her attention demanding behaviours and has shown good potential for training.

Skye is looking for:

  • A semi-rural to rural environment is essential for Skye as she can be a little vocal and thus neighbours will need to be taken into account

  • Skye will need owners who have had experience with high-maintenance dogs that have shown attention demanding behaviours such as jumping up and nipping and barking,

  • A calm, multi carer adult only household as Skye does become mouthy when over stimulated and will need a fairly high level of consistency with regards to her training

  • Skye could live with another dog, preferably a confident, older, settled male that will not take any of her nonsense and teach her some socially acceptable doggie manners

  • New owners will need to be patient and be prepared to listen to and take advice from the Behaviour Unit and follow an ongoing training program

  • It is unknown how Skye will interact with cats and this will need to be explored further

Skye is a fantastic dog with bags of potential and with the right owners will make a wonderful companion. Skye is at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home London. Please call the Behaviour Unit on 020 7627 7884 if you are interested in Skye or email us on [email protected] and quote ref 2006/20001
