Lets start with Scruff's history, his mother's a Samoyd and father a German Shepherd cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Quite a mix! He arrived at Battersea Dogs Home in August 2004 when he was 3 months old.
Owners will need to spend time teaching Scruff to relax and help him calm down and think in new situations.
- Hands on experience of Samoyed or Husky types is essential. Knowledge of these breeds is necessary to understand the commitment of living with his vocals.
- Scruff would suit an active outdoor home with robust and energetic owners.
- Ideally placed in a mature adult household.
- Scruff will not be suitable to live with children.
- Scruff could live with another dog but the match needs to be right. It would be ideal for him to live with a mature adult dog that has a calm confident nature and can give Scruff some guidance.
- Neighbours need to be considered due to the noise he makes, so he should preferably be rehomed to a rural environment.
- Scruff is not suitable to live with cats
Scruff has some great qualities, his age leaves him open to training and his enthusiasm for life is contagious.
