Ray is a male, un-neutered Lurcher. He's one to two years old. Ray arrived as a stray back in April 2007. Ray was referred to the behaviour unit in order to investigate his chase issues. Although Ray displays some chase behaviours around dogs, he does interact well with them, and has the potential to build good relationships with people.
Ray is looking for:
- Owners who are interested in training, and happy to take advice from the behaviour unit.
- Is looking for a house in a semi-rural/rural environment with a garden
- He is not suitable to live with small children, although calm children age 12+ may be considered.
- He would benefit from a consistent multi-carer environment to prevent overbonding.
- Owners will need to have the time to gradually build up the time that he can be left on his own. Ray has the potential to be vocal when left alone, so he would be unsuitable to live in a flat.
- Ray could potentially live with another dog, preferably a female who is calm and relaxed around people and other dogs.
Ray will need time to gain confidence in his new surroundings. Once settled however he will make an endearing and spirited companion. Ray will need some further training in his new home.
To receive advice and guidance regarding this training from the Behaviour Unit staff that have worked with him, potential owners should be prepared to come into the Dogs Home for a minimum of two visits. Ray is at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, London. Please call the Behaviour Unit on 02076277884 if you are interested in Ray or email us on [email protected] and quote Reference 2007 / 02295.
