Phedra came into Battersea Dogs Home in February 2005 - she is a about a year old and is Rottweiler X Rhodesian Ridgeback. She is sociable, friendly and a bit stubborn at times but is also sensitive to sound and can be wary of new people and situations. She is only a young dog but acts much older and is mature for her age. She has a lovely temperament and will bond to her new owner/s very quickly.

Phedra has a strong drive to chase and new owners must be experienced and dedicated to train and to channel her energy into something constructive - she tends to be unsettled by meeting new people and will need training so that this doesn't get any worse - all advice will be given by the Rehabilitation Department.

Phedra needs:

? A semi rural home with large garden is prefered as she really does need a bit of extra room.

? A calm, balanced household to go to with people who have had experience with larger breeds like Ridgebacks, Rottweilers, and German Shepherds.

? People who have worked with wary dogs would be a great advantage.

? Owners who want to do training right from the start and continue it.

? A single carer or multi carer as long as leaving hours are minimal to begin with.

? Sorry, no children!

Phedra is such a lovely dog to be around - once away from the Kennels she relaxes and settles well - she has shown great potential and will no doubt be a very rewarding companion.
