Mature, older lady who is still very active and playful for her age. Very affectionate and typical of the breed. Will over bond quickly towards her new owners. She does get stressed in new situations, but a lot of this be could down to this environment. Onion can be quite intolerant towards other dogs and gets jealous over attention to the point where she will chase the other away, but it's all very controllable as she is so voice responsive. She has a history of possession with long lasting chews, which new owners need to be aware of. She is also quite sound sensitive so will need to live in a semi rural environment.

Her ideal home would be an adult, multi carer household, who do not want her constantly by their side, and instead encourage her to be more self reliant. They will need to be confident, experienced German shepherd owners that will not reinforce her jealous/ over protective behaviour.

Onion really is a wonderful dog that will be devoted to her new owners. With firm ground rules and a clear guiding hand she will blossom on a new home.
