Misty is a 7-10 year old, neutered female German Shepherd Dog who was given in to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home by her owners in February 2007.

An assured, easy going yet active older lady, Misty is pretty much set in her ways.  She is affectionate but sometimes intolerant and doesn't tend too cope well under pressure or restraint.  Owners will need to be laid back and accepting of Misty's nature.

Misty is looking for:

• Experienced owners who have had older, guarding breeds and have had experience of dog to dog issues before


• An adult household with no children or visiting children


• A multi-carer household with a maximum of 3 people for consistency


• A house in a semi rural or rural location with a garden that she can withdraw to if she is feeling a little overwhelmed.  Due to her dog to dog interactions, a home in a low dog populated area would also be essential


• Misty can be vocal so neighbours will need to be considered


• A home without another dog due to her intolerance of them


• Fairly laid back owners who will take her on face value, appreciate that she is what she is, and provide her with a consistent, stable environment

Misty is an older lady with a few surprises up her sleeve and, whilst she may not win any agility competitions any time soon, she most definitely will keep you on your toes.

Misty will need some further training in her new home. To receive advice and guidance regarding this training from the Behaviour Unit staff that have worked with her, potential owners should be prepared to come into the Dogs Home for a minimum of two visits.
