Mineola

Mineola is a beautiful boy who was born in October 2001 in Ireland, he began his racing career in 2003 and was retired in 2005. Mineola really deserves a home to call his own after spending many years in kennels, retired Greyhounds make wondeful pets and companions they just need a chance to settle.

Sweet and sensitive soul who can initially be shy with strangers but once he knows you he is very affectionate and loving. Mineola has spent most of his life in kennels so he will take time to adjust to a home environment, he also has to get used to a whole different way of life, patience and understanding is needed.

Mineola cannot live with cats, it is advised he is also muzzled when in the local park to protect cats, rabbits or similar small fluffy animals. Mineola is social with other dogs but he has mainly been used to other Greyhounds so he could possibly live with a similar sized female who will be a laid back friend for him.

Mineola has had little training, this includes housetraining so new owners will need to dedicate time to this initially. Most Greyhounds usually settle well in their new homes and do not take long to become fully housetrained. Due to his sensitive nature we feel a home without young children would be better for Mineola, teenagers would be considered.

Mineola is used to car travel and seems very relaxed in a car. Once settled and housetrained Mineola could be left on his own, he should settle well after a good walk and if left with a comfy bed and tasty bone. Greyhounds are such lovely dogs they just need a chance so please consider offering Mineola or one of our many Greyhounds a home.
