Mattie

Mattie was brought to Battersea as a stray so we have limited information on his past.  Mattie is a typical feisty natured Terrier who is active, intelligent, social and stubborn, he is looking for experienced dog owners ideally used to Terriers. Although small and cute Mattie will not make a suitable lapdog companion to spoil, he has lots of energy and gets bored easily so will need outdoor loving owners who are active to keep up and provide Mattie with the daily stimulation needed.

Unfortunately Mattie has had little or no training in the past so will need owners prepared to start the training and social work needed. Mattie has long hair which will need daily grooming to keep him looking in tip top condition. Mattie can be vocal towards other dogs on lead but isn't as brave as he makes out and is actually worried, he can become a bit defensive at times so will need the correct handling and social work to prevent this becoming a problem.

Due to his unknown past we do not know if Mattie has lived in home before, he may need housetraining and time to adjust. At this stage Mattie should not be left alone for long and will need time to settle. If given enough stimulation he should be ok to be left for short periods. Unfortunately Mattie cannot live with other dogs, cats or young children, he could possibly live with teenagers that could help with the training and social work. With guidance and further training Mattie should make a fun addition.
