Roly is a lovable rogue and sadly this will be his third visit to Battersea in two years. Roly was originally brought in to Battersea as a youngster in 2004 as his owners did not have the time to offer the attention he needed, he was then rehomed but returned after a few days as he was not happy being left on his own. Roly was then rehomed and was loving life again, until his new family had a baby and unfortunately could not cope with a young boisterous dog and a new baby. Roly loves people and likes to be around you all the time, he is a fun and interactive dog with heaps of energy.

Roly has been anxious in the past two homes and became destructive when left on his own, we would recommend that his new owners use a crate so his has an area where he feels safe and secure. He has been crate trained whilst at Battersea and is slowly getting used to being left on his own for short periods, he is happy to be on his own in his crate especially if he has a tasty bone. Like most Staffies Roly is very intelligent and trainable, he already knows some basic commands and would easily learn more if new owners dedicate some time to further training. Roly was previously housetrained, travelled well in a car and is learning to walk well on a lead. Roly is sociable with other dogs but can be over the top in his games, he could possibly live with a mature and tolerant female who will be in charge. Unfortunately Roly is not compatible to live with cats.

Roly is looking for experienced dog owners, he is a true rescue dog who will need understanding and dedication. Roly cannot live with young kids, teenagers only who can actively take part in his care and training. Being a social lad he is fine to be around visiting children but interaction should be monitored as he can be boisterous. Due to his anxiety problems Roly cannot be left on his own initially and will need owners around the majority of the day to continue his training. Roly is a gem of a dog and really will make a fantastic addition in a experienced home willing to give him the time needed to settle. If you feel you can offer this lively and loving dog the home he deserves please contact the rehoming team at Old Windsor on 01784 494443.
