Jack originally came to Battersea back in May 2007 as a stray, he was rehomed in August but sadly returned after a week as his new owners could not cope with him. Jack has spent the last 6 months in kennels and isn't enjoying kennel life, he really needs owners who appreciate Terriers and what comes with them.
Jack does need experienced owners who understand Terriers to cope with his needs and traits, he has a strong instinct to chase and hunt so needs owners prepared for this and to work on his recall. Jack cannot live with other dogs, cats or other small pets and it is advisable direct neighbours do not have cats also.
In his last home Jack was housetrained, traveled well in a car and could be left for short periods with no problems. Like most Terriers Jack is intelligent yet stubborn, he does know some commands and has the capacity to learn much more but owners will need to be patient and consistent when doing training or he will make his own rules up!
Unfortunately Jack cannot live with children, older teenagers would be considered that can help with his training. A secure garden is needed as Jack will need somewhere for training and to burn off his energy off lead, Terriers can be good escape artists especially if they can smell a cat or other wildlife near by.
For the Terrier enthusiast Jack will be a joy to own, he is a cheeky monkey with a fun character and plenty of potential in experienced hands. If you feel you can offer this bundle of energy a home please contact the rehoming team at Old windsor on 01784 494443 or apply online.
