Happy Benji

ref: 2006/05412
size: Medium
age: 11 months old
sex: Male
centre: Battersea
breed: Shar-pei cross Labrador
arrived on: 20/10/06
Benji is a bright and enthusiastic young lad with lots of energy. He is crossed with a Shar-pei and Labrador; he does show traits of both these breeds. Shar-pei`s are a loyal breed and will be devoted to their owner and can be wary of new people that come into the home. Labradors are friendly, sociable and excitable with lots of energy. You could say that both breeds complement each other. Benji was left for over nine hours in his last home that has resulted in him being under socialised around dogs.
- New owners must have owned a dog before and are able to provide him with lots of training so he can focus on the handler then be able to slowly be introduced to new dogs
- He will be unable to live with another dog or with cats
- New owners will need to be prepared to listen to and take advice from the Behaviour Unit regarding Benji's behavioural issues and be prepared to continue any training programs within the home
- Due to the need for a calm, consistent household free of distracions, Benji will need to be rehomed into an adult-only household with no visiting kids
- Potential owners will need to have a fair amount of time available to put into the training Benji will need
- Benji will need to live in a house with a garden in a semi rural location
If you feel you can offer Benji a home please contact the Behaviour Unit on 0207 627 7884 or e-mail [email protected] quoting his reference number 2006/05412. Alternatively, you could come down to the home and register with us.
