Flynn is a 1-2 year old male German Shepherd cross Labrador. He came in to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home as a stray in June 2007. He was referred to the Behaviour Unit because of his chase issues and general interaction with other dogs. Flynn loves attention from people but has a sensitive side to him as well, so he is looking for owners who are willing to put in the time and effort to train him and guide him into more socially acceptable behaviour with other dogs.
Flynn is looking for:
- Owners will need to have owned dogs previously, preferably high status males, though experience of owning confident female may also suffice.
- Flynn should ideally live in a multi-carer household, however an experienced single owner may be considered. .
- Flynn is not suitable to live with children or have visiting children in his new home. Older teenagers may be considered depending on experience.
- Flynn is looking for a semi rural or rural location in a quiet area with a low dog and people population. He needs a house with a good sized and securely fenced garden for training and chill out time.
- Flynn is a bit of a lad when it comes to other dogs so is not suited to living with a male but could possibly live with a confident female who would enjoy interacting with him but who could also teach him some socially acceptable doggy manners.
- Due to his high chase drive and status issues, owners will need to be prepared to put the time and effort into training in order to gain his focus and have a good recall around other dogs.
- Flynn has not been tested with a cat but due to his high chase drive, he is unlikely to be suitable to live with a cat.
