centre: Battersea
breed: Border Collie cross Retriever

Buddy is a 6-12 month old Black and Tan, Border Collie Cross Retriever who came into Battersea back in June 2005 as a gift.
Buddy is an independent young fellow who can be quite aloof despite his age. He will make a good one to one companion once a bond has been established, a great one man dog!
He was originally referred to the Behaviour Unit for a lack of Basic Control. He does have a cocky demanding streak that tends to come out when he wants something. Owners will need to keep things on their terms and remain one step ahead of him all the time.
He is also undersocialised and not overly confident around dogs. He can be quite intolerant of younger dogs and can be unsure with other dogs. He could live with an older female if it was beneficial for both dogs.
Buddy is looking for:
- Semirural environment, not too populated with people or dogs to enable work on focus.
- House with a garden will be essential for training and mental stimulation.
- Experience of strong willed large dogs essential. Owners must be willing to do a lot of training and have a great deal of time to devote to him.
- No children to live with or visiting due to mouthing / grabbing
- Owners will need to have the right attitude when dealing with Buddy, they must be calm and patient.
If you feel you could offer Buddy a home then please contact the Behaviour Unit on 02076277893 or email at [email protected] and quote his reference number 2005/20500.
