Tallulah has quite a history for one so young, and we believe this to be the cause of some of the behaviour you see with a cat like Tallulah.  Even though she is only two years old she has been run over and had to spend time cooped up in a cage to help her get better again, she was also bitten badly by another cat and left her needing stitches, she was then rehomed twice, both homes had young children in them and little Tallulah does not like little people who can be unpredictable and very heavy handed with her.  In short little Tallulah has lost most of her trust with humans, be them vets (who obviously bring back some painful memories) or us humans who keep sending her off to new homes!. Tallulah is a very affectionate and playful girl.

She has a very confident and bold little personality, even though she is now trying to find her third new home.  Tallulah will be a joy to own for any one who likes an independent cheeky nature, she enjoys playing and would happily play all day if she could, and is an ideal way to bond with a cat like Tallulah.  In fact she needs owners who are not going to stroke her too much as she really isnt ready to trust people fully yet, this will only come with time and with an understanding owner, Tallulah does not to be loved and petted to feel secure she needs someone who will just let her be, and very slowly the trust may start to come back, but only with time.

She would be ideal for any one who just wants a cat to be a cat.  She is very cute at times and likes to be around adults and will happily come to you for a fuss.  Tallulah needs lots of stimulation to keep her amused, and is quite an intelligent little cat.  She will always needs things like scratching posts and the odd toy mouse around the house to keep her amused when she is up in the early hours of the morning and your still asleep!.  She came to the home due to her unpredictable nature, especially around a young child so needs an adult only household, where with the right owners she should improve. Tallulah is looking for the following in her next home:

Any one interested in offering Tallulah a secure and stable home can either come and register or contact Battersea Dogs and Cats home Brands Hatch on 01474 875 106 where you can leave a message and one of the cattery staff will get back to you.

Update 21/4/2008 - Tallulah's behaviour has shown a real improvenmnet over the past weeks, she happily sits on our laps kneeding our arms whilst being stroked from head to tail.  She still has a side to her that if pushed/handled too much she will react but she has improved alot and seems to be settled here with just adult company, she has become more friendly and will jump straight into our laps as soon as we sit down and if allowed muzzles into your neck, so her trust is coming back but she still needs experienced owners who can read her body language and who will just let her be.  Given the right home and the right owners her behaviour could improve hopefully beyond all our expectations.
