Our fourth 'R' is for Rehome - Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is devoted to finding dogs and cats loving and permanent new homes.

Our dedicated team of rehomers interview everyone who wants to rehome a dog or cat and our unique computer matching system helps them find the perfect match.

The average stay for a dog at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is 23 days, but some dogs end up staying here a bit longer through no fault of their own. Sometimes they need an extra-special new home, with experience of their breed, temperament, or they might not be suitable to live with children or other animals.
Cats tend to stay at the Home for a shorter time probably becaues a cat is an easier pet to have in London. Despite this, some cats spend longer here than they should. It could be that they're not quite as young or good looking as their neighbours who get chosen quicker.
Whatever the reason, the dedicated staff here at the Home take care of them until the right someone comes along.
