Zodiac came into the home in October 2003. She is a 1-2year old black female lurcher. She had to be given up by her owners, as they felt that Zodiac was too unpredictable around their children. She was referred to rehab due to her nervous nature & it will take her a long time to build a bond with her new owners. This will mean that she need time to settle in & must not be forced into any uncomfortable situations. She will need owners who have had experience of nervous dogs & who won't back up any nervous behaviour.
Zodiac is looking for a semi-rural home with a garden, multi carer due to the fact she will over bond with just 1 person. Unfortunately she is not able to live with or have visiting children to the home. She is a thief! She prefers to steal than be given food or toys. She will need encouragement to play with toys with people. She will possibly be a bin raider as well. She has had a lot of dog interaction previously & definitely prefers their company to people; she feels a lot more secure around them & tends to copy their behaviour forgetting that she is nervous.
New owners will need to buy a crate & crate train her, she will need hiding holes around the home where she can hide if she feels threatened.
As Zodiac is a rehab dog she will need potential new owners to come and see her at least 2 times here at Battersea before you would be able to take her & you will also be offered training & advice by the rehab department.
