Sammy Smart is only two but acts a lot older. Although he is a self-assured little man he is also very stressed and because of this is very thin. Due to his weight, Sam is highly motivated by food. This coupled with his love of learning and his enjoyment of interacting with people once he gets to know you and relaxes, means he should be a fast little learner.
Sam arrived at the Home from an environment that has caused him a lot of confusion about how he should behave and he has a poor tolerance level with any dogs he sees as a threat. In fact Sam would not care if he ever saw another dog again, and should avoid dog-populated areas.
Sam needs patient, mature owners who have hands-on experience of terriers and should not live with children or other dogs. A rural or semi rural environment is required with a good garden to play search games in. He is definitely a "walk round the block" and "play in the garden" dog rather than a "let's go to the park" dog. He could be an endearing little lad for owners who want limited activity.
A second visit is required before Sam can be rehomed.
