Harmony is a 1-2 year old mongrel that was brought into us as a stray in February this year. She was referred to the rehabilitation department due to her wary behaviour and dislike of strangers and men. While she shows no aggression towards strangers, she is very wary and avoids any contact with them.

Once she builds a bond with you her confidence grows and she becomes a very nice natured and affectionate dog. She can be demanding at times and whines or barks if confused or pushed too fast into something. She does not like hands coming towards her and will avoid them, but once she knows you she then does enjoy a chest rub. She is also very agile and a great climber.

Because of her character she will need new owners that are patient and understanding, but also not going to let her get her own way all the time as she can become quite demanding. She also needs owners that will play with her and have time to expose her to different environments. She is very playful and enjoys the company of most other dogs. Her new owners will all have to take part in the care taking of her, especially the males as she can over bond with the females in the house.

Harmony will require at least two visits from potential new owners, and comes with a recommended behaviour program that will need to be continued once she leaves the home.
