Charlie is a young vibrant, confident teenager (18 months). A handsome chap he doesn't carry much lurcher sensitivity that you would expect from the breed. No, indeed, Charlie tends to leap into situations with all four paws.
He came into Battersea for being too much with the children in the household (children were 10 and 12 years old) and on his first temperament assessment Charlie showed our staff why. So Charlie had the privilege of spending some time with our behaviour and training department so that we can let you know what sort of training needs to be done and how to put things into practice to teach Charlie some basic doggie manners. Charlie's new owners must be prepared for the amount of commitment that Charlie needs.
Charlie is in need of active owners that have had experience with large boisterous breeds such as German Shepherds and Rottweillers types. Charlie becomes over excited and demanding with people this had lead to bruising his last owners so he will not be suitable to live with children and teenagers must be at least a hardy 15 years upwards.
Charlie is good with other dogs but will need a lot of one to one training and would only be rehomed with another dog if the other dog is confident and of the right character.
Along with laying down some strict ground rules Charlie's owners must be prepared to control his instinctive chase urges and provide him with a lot of both mental and physical stimulation.
Charlie is a fun character and always ready for adventure. With the consistent rules and training Cheeky Charlie will be a well loved and rewarding addition to a household.
If you live in a semi-rural or country location and think that you can offer Charlie what he needs than please come in for a visit.
