Bubbles

Wow! Bubbles has oodles of energy and a love of life.

This 2-year-old brindle lurcher came into Battersea in May 2002 as a stray. He has a great personality but a few behavioural problems that our rehabilitation team have looked at, which include;

- Over-stimulated attention seeking: (this is a problem when Bubbles gets over-excited and he jumps up and mouths & grabs arms & clothing). While this problem is redeemable Bubbles's new owners must invest a lot of time and training to make sure it doesn't get out of hand (especially in public areas where there may be children around)

- Chase: Bubbles's natural instinct is to chase due to his breed type and again owners will need to invest a lot of time to teach him a reliable recall and teach him to use all this energy on constructive outlets.

- Potential destructiveness: Bubbles may need an area to spend time alone in while learning the rules and routine of his new home (avoiding any opportunities to get into mischief meanwhile)

We are looking for a Semi-rural to rural home for Bubbles and a garden will be important, as he will need plenty of training and release of energy in a secure environment.

Bubbles new owners should have "hands on" experience of lurchers or collie types they need to be prepared for the time and energy that Bubbles will take up and be enthusiastic as well as active but composed. Older teens only, we will not place Bubbles with young children due to his behaviour problems. Bubbles is not for cats or small animals

Bubbles has a lot of good points. He is a quick learner. He is young and very motivated by toys and food and he enjoys being around people. He is good with other dogs, although sometimes a bit boisterous and could live with another dog if they could cope with his energetic antics.

Bubbles has a big character and owners will have a lot of fun with him, but first the right relationship will need to be established and a lot of guidance will be essential.

This lad will keep you on your toes!
