Why donate to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home?
Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is a registered Charity that receives no Government support, so every donation is very well received to help us continue our vital work with lost and abandoned dogs and cats. It costs us over 8 million a year to run the Home - that means an average 637 for each and every dog and cat, no matter how long or short their stay.
Committed Giving
A regular gift is a great way to help Battersea Dogs & Cats Home - committed giving helps us plan for the future with confidence.
Here are some examples of what we could use your regular donation for:
10 will buy a toy for ten dogs
15 will provide the cats with fresh litter for a day
25 feeds over 100 cats for one day
50 will feed over 100 dogs for a day
But, whatever you can afford will help us plan more effectively for the future care of our dogs and cats.
The most efficient way to give on a regular basis is by Direct Debit - it's really easy to set up and saves us money in administration costs - so even more of your donation goes to help the cats and dogs. We have a special secure online Direct Debit service through CAF - the Charities Aid Foundation.

Don't forget, if you are a UK tax payer you can Gift Aid your donation - allowing us to claim back the tax - currently 28p for every 1 you give.
You can make payments, large or small, regular or one-off to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home under Gift Aid. Simply complete the Gift Aid declaration, which requires you to confirm that you will pay an amount of income tax or capital gains tax equal the tax we claim back on your donations.
Gift Aid allows us to reclaim the basic rate tax on your donation from the Inland Revenue. This means that the donation is worth an extra 28% to us - we can claim back 28p for every 1 you give. If you are liable at the higher rate of income tax we can claim the difference (18% in 2001/02) between the higher rate of 40% and the basic rate of 22% on the grossed up donation.
If you make a one-off donation online or set up a Direct Debit, our donation processing agency Justgiving or CAF will handle the Gift Aid for us.
If you make a donation by post, the postal donation form includes Gift Aid, or you can print off a Gift aid form and enclose it with your donation.
