Donating other Gifts
There are loads of things we can use, and some things we can't use, so before sending your donation in kind, please check out the list below.
We always need: Dog toys - tough, durable, easily cleanableCat toys - ping pong balls; catnip toysBedding - quilts / duvets, cat bedsBlankets - big, sturdy woollen onesLarge knitted blankets without holesIndoor dog pensCat basketsDog treats - especially rawhideDog coats, of the sturdy, manufactured kindDog leads, harnesses and 'gentle leaders'Tupperware containers for keeping treats inThere are also some less obvious things we can use to keep the dogs and cats happy: Mobiles and wind chimes for kennelsStereos and radio cassette players for kennelsTraining leads and behaviour products for the Rehab dogsHard plastic kids paddling pools for the summerHard plastic kids toys, like a Wendy House, for dogs to play inGreyhound collarsLong lengths of climbing ropeBooks on dogs and cats to further our staff's knowledgeWe are always very grateful for every donation we receive, but unfortunately there are a few things that we can't use. Dog or cat food - we feed all our residents a regular diet of premium food to keep them healthy - changing food can upset their stomachs. If you have dog or cat food to donate, please can we suggest that you take it to a smaller, local rescue centre who will be very grateful for it.Newspapers - we do use newspapers in the kennels but we always have thousands of them!Small knitted blankets - we can always use large blankets and knitted blankets, but we are over run with small ones at the moment.Knitted dogs coats - we've got thousands of these at the moment, tooSmall crocheted blankets - unfortunately, crocheted blankets are not suitable to be used in kennels as the holes are usually too big, allowing claws and paws to get stuck in them.Old computer equipment, as it is not compatible with our computer system.
