L etter from.... Ben's owners.
"Aletter to let you know that Ben has settled in very well, although he didn't have a name when I first got him. He had kennel cough which got quite bad so we were up the vets for a couple of weeks, but soon got back to good heatlh. It feels like Ben has always been here, he is so much joy and so affectionate. He is now my alarm clock and my flannel in the mornings, he loves to play. He loves being with people and is very good with children. He has a good social life with other dogs and has lots of friends. He is such a lovely dog, who gives so much, I couldn't imagine being without him. I can't understand why he ended up a stray, but he has a new home now and I'm sure he knows he is well loved. I want to thank you all for all the good work you do, and for giving so many dogs a second chance."

Letter from... Fozzy's Owners
"W e've had Fozzy for just about a year, he must be four years old. He is the dearest, most sweet natured dog - a continual good companion to our daughter aged 3 and a quarter, the two cats, my wife and myself. He puts up with every indignity regretably forced upon him by my daughter, he never fights or barks except when a stranger comes to the house. He runs like the wind in the park, catches a frisbee all four legs off the ground and never quite manages to catch a squirrel. He is everything you might look for in a pet. He also seems to love us rather a lot which is gratifying. Thank you once again for helping us find an ideal pet. We look forward to many years of happiness with him."

Letter from... Molly's owners
" After many visits to Battersea, we finally found Molly. My boyfriend and I knew she was the one for us. She was an angel for the first two weeks of arriving at our home, but as we were warned she then settled in! What can I say, she is a real character. She has eaten carpets, curtains, chair legs, shoes. Basically if she can get it in her mouth, she'll chew it. After the chewing phase she went through a thieving phase, opening the fridge and helping herself, robbing cupboards, and then hiding the evidence! Our house now has padlocks on the fridge and all cupboards! Since phoning your Behaviour Hotline, and discussing the problems with the staff, Molly is like a completely different dog. She is far more obedient, and she actually seems happier. I would like to thank you for your help. Thank you all for helping to find us both such a wonderful dog like Molly. We wouldn't be without her." |

Letter from... Tara
"Tara first appeared on the BBC programme because when she first came into Battersea she was very, very nervous and had only lived in an outdoor and indoor kennel. Luckily for her the Hardy's were watching and decided that she was the dog for them. She has now been living with them for a few months and, although it hasn't been plain sailing all the way, she is now starting to feel settled and secure in her new home. As Tara explains in her letter:
"Here are the latest photo's of me and my best friend Velvet. We get on very well together, even though I'm sometimes naughty and steal her ball and run away with it. We go onto the beach together which I like very much. In the last month I've met lots more people and dogs, any my Mum is pleased with the way I seem to be taking everything in my stride. I really like my Dad now and even let him put my collar on for me. Everyone says how lovely I am so I have to let them stroke me and sometimes they give me a biscuit. Have to go now as it's time for another walk. Will keep in touch, but in the meantime, love to you all." |

A card from... Chelsea's owners
"Here is just a quick note to let you know how well Scully has settled in with us. First of all her new name is Scully and she responds to that really well. We have sent a few photos so you can see that she loves our other dog, Chiefie - they spend every minute together and get very upset if they are separated for more than 2 minutes. Chelsea runs off the lead on a big field close to where we live and she absolutely loves it - the two of them play like mad. She is really fast and outruns Chiefie in a second. Chelsea loves to be caressed and made a fuss of and she loves being brushed which we try to do every day. Both Chiefie and Chelsea love our garden which they can run in and out of just as they please. Chelsea has now started to play with her toys - she sometimes wrestles the tug-a-war off of Chiefie. Anyway, I just wanted you to know that Chelsea is happy and that we love her very much. Thank you for all your help.

Letter from... Monty
"Thought I'd get Mum to write to you as although I do love putting my paws on her laptop keyboard, I'm not too good at getting the letters in the right order, and I soon get very bored. I have been nagging her to type this for me for a while. I've been with my Mum since March and gosh what a nice, warm comfy gaff, I thought, for her and me (undivided attention) so I settled in right away. I hated my old name - Toby - which made me sound like some nancy dog, and so, after much deliberation, I got 'enobled' to Lord Montague, shortened to Monty because it made me sound hip and trendy as just everyone was raving about this brill film at the time. Now the weather's colder, I get to sleep on my Mum's bed, sinking deep into her duvet. I just wish my coat wasn't almost white, leaving itself everywhere - Mum loves wearing dark colours, and has rolls of Sellotape all around the house. I'm always extremely nice with visitors so they don't mind leaving looking all fluffy. Still, I get to be brushed every day or two, which is my idea of heaven. Anyway think I'm due another tummy tickle soon, so need Mum to stop tapping on that silly machine of hers. With my very best wishes, and keep up the good work on finding us happy homes."
Love Monty
