If you find a pet that is obviously lost, call your local Dog Warden whose telephone number you can get from your local authority. Alternatively please take it to a Police Station or local animal rescue organisation: find the details of these in your local Yellow Pages or Thompsons Directory.

You can choose to 'look after it', but you must report it to the following organisations:

Your local Police Station, or ring Directory Enquiries on 192, if you don't have the number.

Our Lost Dogs dept. on 0207 627 9245, who will log full details of the pet you have found on their computer system. These details are then matched with those from owners who have reported their pets missing. This dept. deals with both lost dogs and cats.

Please do be careful about adopting a pet that arrives on your doorstep or follows you back to your car. You could be breaking someone's heart...
